The area of Auchterarder is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The following links show a wide range of local attractions in the area.

 

  • Ardunie Roman Signal Station The site of a Roman watch tower on the Gask Ridge dating to the first century. Accessed by footpath 1m NW of the village of Denfield on the Trinity Gask road off the B8062 Crieff to Auchterarder road.
  • Auchingarrich Wildlife Centre Set in 400 acres of beautiful Perthshire countryside you would be hard pressed to find a better or more scenic location for a wildlife centre than that at Auchingarrich. STB 3 Star Attraction. Comrie, Perthshire PH6 2JS.
     
  • Blackhill Camp Roman Site Parts of the defences of two Roman marching camps, probably dating to the early third century. 0.5m N of Braco off the A822 Crieff road just past the junction with the B827 Comrie road.
  • Famous Grouse Experience Glenturret Distillery. The Hosh, Crieff, Perthshire PH7 4HA. STB 5 Star Attraction.
     
  • Fowlis Wester Sculptured Stone A tall cross-slab with Pictish symbols, figural scenes and ornate decoration. The original is now in the village church; a replica stands in the square. At Fowlis Wester, 6m NE of Crieff off the A85.
     
  • Innerpeffray Chapel A rectangular collegiate church founded in 1508. Still retains its altar, evidence of its furnishings and some painted details. Off the B8062 midway between Crieff and Auchterarder
     
  • Tullibardine Chapel One of the most complete and unaltered small medieval churches in Scotland, founded in 1446 and largely rebuilt about 1500. Much architectural detail has survived. 2m NW of Auchterarder off the A823 Crieff road.
     
  • Tullibardine Distillery Distillery and Tullibardine 1488 Visitor Centre. Blackford, Perthshire PH4 1QG.
     
  • Gleneagles Furniture Centre, Next door to Jon & Fernanda's Restaurant
